Along with a family any man would dream of having, until his retirement mid-2022, Dan worked at a major enterprise organization (Bell Canada) for 42 years, most recently holding the title of Director IT Infrastructure Security, Desktop & Messaging. 

 

Over 15 years experience as a Director, leading an organization of  50+ accountable for End User Compute  and other Services including:

 

  • Endpoint & Application Security

  • Desktop/PC Program

  • Email & Messaging 

  • Employee Video Service

 

Scope of accountability included 50,000 PCs, 60,000 Exchange accounts, 2,500 Video endpoints, protecting 65,000 endpoints.  Financial responsibility of $25 M Capital and Expense annually.

Dan is a seasoned servant leader and motivator, recognized for his ability to execute broad programs through effective planning and execution, building strong teams accountable to deliver and operate in their area of expertise.  

 

Employee survey results over the last three years for Engagement (86%), Alignment (83%), Agility (80%) and Leadership (94%) were significantly higher than company and Canadian norms.

 

Career successes include implementing an employee video service, the consolidation of different IT Infrastructure platforms from acquisitions, and strong focus on asset and employee productivity results (reducing Email Total Cost of Ownership by 25%, Desktop operating expenses by 45%, and increasing employee productivity through a 65% reduction of Desktop Help Desk reports.

 

More recent achievements include evolving End User Compute model to adapt to mobile working on a much broader basis within two weeks of COVID-19 restrictions. 

Balancing out a successful career at Bell, Dan has been the lead singer and front man for Ottawa's Tragically Hip tribute band, Little Bones for close to 30 years.  Littlebones.ca
